Useful storage ideas in our home

We’ve been living in our house for nearly two years now.

As lovely as new builds can be (yay for clean white skirting boards!) the storage can be minimal to zero!

Here are some of the things we have added to the house which have really improved our life…

By adding these wooden shelves above our sink we have been able to really clear the work tops and make the kitchen less cluttered.

The kitchen in our house definately had questionable cupboard storage, especially where saucepans were concerned.

The only place for them were those awful corner cupboards. So we had to look out of the kitchen…

so we put this up in the larder! This freed up an entire cupboard and allowed for easily accesible pans.

The main lesson I learned from this is that if there doesn’t seem to be an easy solution to a storage problem then think outside the box!

This larder was originally a completely empty under cupboard but now is a very useful larder and utility storage area.

When it came to the childrens room the only option for us was a huge Kallax! We have two primary school aged girls. We needed somewhere which can fit toys, books, coats and bags and memory boxes. A Kallax was the only way!

As the girls grow up these boxes can be used for various different belongings and the decor of the furniture can easily be changed to look more grown up (buying new boxes or at least looking for second hand ones – there are lots of people with this type of furniture.
