Butlins has been a part of our family life for many years now.
It began with taking our 3-year-old daughter to a Butlins Just for Tots break and now, seven years later, we go every year for a five-day easter holiday.
Butlins offers so much entertainment and fun (not to mention the cooking and cleaning break for Mum!).
After booking this break in 2019 the pandemic closed the Butlins gates until 2022 and we were very happy to eventually return!

After travelling to the Bognor Regis Butlins we checked in then went to check out our apartment.

It was a basic but comfortable 3-bedroom apartment which included a living area, a kitchen, bathroom and even a patio area.
Although the apartment could allow us to cook our meals we had booked for half board catering.
We book into premium dining and enjoy selecting our own meals which can vary from a roast dinner, Italian and Asian to British classics, vegan and vegetarian options. Then afterward there are many pudding options too.
We love the dining at Butlins and it has helped with introducing our children to new dishes and gives them independence with choosing and picking out their own food and drink.
I decided to start reduce breastfeeding with my second child when we were at Butlins in 2017. I’m convinced that the huge range of food helped to make this transition smoother. I remember that watermelon was one of her favourites that year and remaind that way now!

Over the next week we got involved in many of the activities offered at Butlins.
One of the most popular activities is to explore the Skyline Pavilion.

Here we can enjoy the arcade, shows, younger children’s indoor fairground rides, soft play, puppet shows, silent cinemas and various shops and eateries.
Outside the pavilion you can find parks, areas for craft and pottery painting and more venues for shows and discos.

It is easy to spend an entire day at Butlins fairground.
Here there are well known rides for all ages. From carousel and dodgems to helter-skelter and a wave swinger.
All the rides and fair attractions are free so it’s much more do-able than usual travelling fairgrounds.

On the Thursday we set a day aside to spend at the splash pool.

Opened in 2019 this fairly new pool has been designed around the British sea side and is more of a splash park than a traditional pool.

Slides, jacuzzi’s and play boats all add to the fun and my children spend ages splashing around here.
By the end of the week the children had so much fun and memorable times. It has been so special seeing their happiness after so many pandemic induced non-Butlins years.
