A long overdue update

I know, I know, I haven’t posted a blog for absolutely ages!

Before getting back into blogging I wanted to do a quick update.

My MS is now Secondary Progressive. To help with this change I now have a mobility scooter and stair lift.

I struggled with accepting both of these into my life (especially the stair lift and all it’s Thora Hird stairlift adverts!) but they have made my life so much easier. The scooter has made it possible to “walk” my daughter to school and to more easily go to my local shops.

The stair lift has not only made it easier to use the stairs, it has also made carrying things upstairs, like laundry, more possible too.

Although, as I’ve said, these have improved my quality of life, I am concerned that the reduced walking has led to the “use it or lose it” effect. This will be something I will look at when putting together a more formal MS daily workout.

The other change in my life has been the separation from my husband.

Although this was a mutual agreement it is still sad. However we are both happier and the girls have coped well. The normality of their life is at the forefront of our minds and they still see their dad a lot.

Life has changed but I will ensure that I will change and hopefully grow with it. Anyway, it’s certain that my daughters will make sure that I don’t get lazy!
